FPL improvements on Fisher Island
FPL will be installing an additional power line to Fisher island. This is a level of service enjoyed by only a few FPL customers throughout the state.
The project is valued at approx $1m with zero cost to residents of Fisher Island.
Once the installation is complete, if the existing Virginia Key power grid fails the new connection running from Lumus Island will provide an alternate source of electricity for the Island.
FPL estimates that the upgrade should be completed as early as September.
